As a professional educator with a passion for health and wellness, I blended my two loves together to found Vitality with Vanessa LLC.
Vitality, by definition, is the state of being strong and active. For me, this isn't just physically strong and active. By my definition vitality is becoming more mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually resilient -- on your terms.
To achieve vitality one has to consider the whole person. I spent a majority of my twenties exploring what makes me, me -- navigating mental and physical health challenges that left me feeling perpetually bloated, exhausted, and emotionally drained. I was told I had IBS and PCOS and "there was nothing I could do" and maybe "eat less fruit". Not to mention, I have ADHD that went undiagnosed until my late twenties. Negative thought loops about these challenges created a cycle that left me feeling drained daily.
Once I started root cause work, identifying barriers and taking steps to change multiple areas of my life, I noticed my physical and mental symptoms started to subside. I've let go of past behavior that didn't serve me and brought in things that nourished my body and soul. The deeper I got, the more I knew this was work I want to do.
As I approach thirty, for me, living with vitality means taking steps to spend my time mindfully, nourish my body with foods that I respond best too, reduce my workout frequency (and seeing better results too!), and more.
